Curriculum:  The three year old classes use "Doors to Discovery", an early childhood, hands-on and play-based literacy curriculum that uses thematic units and literacy activities to build a foundation of oral language, phonological awareness, alphabet knowledge and concepts of print and a love of books.  The four year olds classes use the DLM Early Childhood Express, a comprehensive, brain/neurologic research -based curriculum.  The program links language and early literacy, math, science, social studies, fine arts, health and safety. Both curriculums are published by McGraw-Hill.  The Kindergarten uses the Pleasant Rowland Super Kids Program which is a comprehensive core reading program that teaches children to read and write at the same time. Handwriting, spelling, and simple grammar and mechanics are seamlessly integrated into the reading instruction.  Math concepts are taught using the Silver Burdette Ginn Mathematics Program, which combines art, music, rhythm, science and literature into a program of math exploration, practice and application.

Enrichment Classes: In addition to core curriculum, your child will also participate in Spanish, music, computer lab and motor skills enrichment classes; each presented by a specialized teacher.

Chapel: Weekly chapel services reinforce Christian values.  Our chapel time is filled with music, prayers, bible stories and an abundance of love.  Parents are always welcome to attend chapel, as well as any of the activities we have at our school.

Field Trips and On-Campus Events: Four year old classes and Kindergarten will partake in educational field trips.  All children participate with on-campus events throughout the year.

Our School: Colonial Hills maintains a small teacher/student ratio so that the self-esteem of each child can be nurtured. It includes weekly chapel services, sponsored special events including field trips, health and safety programs, local community celebrations, and other educational programs.

Learning Centers: Our classrooms provide several learning centers, which offer opportunities for your child to learn through challenging activities. Centers include:

Art Center

Dramatic Play Center

Manipulative Center

Library Center

Block Center

Science Center

Woodworking Center

Sensory Center
